// Let’s get to know you
I had started Untapped Admin & Marketing as I enjoy helping others succeed and the purpose of my business is to support sole traders and small businesses to grow. My background is varied, but predominantly within support roles of admin and marketing. I have worked within the union and political space supporting workers, constituents and politicians have a voice. I walked away from this industry and found myself working within e-commerce and project management of the Australian wine industry. Here I studied a Post Grad Certificate in Wine Business and had the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s leading brands.

Being half-Canadian I moved to Vancouver in Canada for an opportunity to work in a Government run wine industry and working with international wines. I then found work in marketing junior mining projects in USA and Mexico. After meeting my now fiancé, we moved back to Melbourne and I pursued a role within the ATO in Service Delivery then promoted to Law Interpretation. During this time I begun to study a Diploma in Counselling, as I wanted to again help people and having a traumatic up bringing, I wanted to give back. This was during the COVID lock downs. At this time, my Father (back in Adelaide) was diagnosed with Leukemia and passed away the day we moved back to Adelaide.

I started a role within Disability Support Services helping those with barriers to employment, from physical barriers to mental health. I enjoyed this work and found I was supporting many start their own business to become successful. It was this role that I was introduced to many business owners, which gave me the confidence to become a Virtual Assistant supporting other businesses.

// What makes you a Woman to Watch for 2024?
Having only started a VA business in 2023, I have become VP of my business networking group, BNI Christies Beach and working with multiple business to make a difference, including starting a NFP for first aid. This year I want to make a difference in people’s lives, not only supporting businesses by outsourcing their day-to-day admin and marketing needs, but helping others find their passion.

// What is your goal or intention for the year ahead? And how are you going to achieve it?
I want to take this to the next step of helping others with meaningful employment opportunities, either within my organisation or by providing mentoring to achieve their goals. This year I am partnering with multiple companies to help others. I am working with Disability Employment Agencies to guide their sole traders to grow their businesses and with a first aid provider to start a NFP helping the motorcycle community with first aid awareness.

Another goal is to delve into an answering service for my clientele. I have had a lot of raised interest in this area and by introducing this new service, this could provide an opportunity to employ those who are looking for a working from home role which is flexible for their lifestyle, eg Parents, Carers, people who have been overlooked or would like to a second chance to get back onto their feet.

// What would being a Woman to Watch mean to you?
Just being nominated has provided me with the confidence to keep going. This will give me the courage to keep going and show that I can make a difference that I am striving for in helping others.

// What would you like to see for the future of South Australian women and girls?
Mentorships, opportunities and guidance for young women living through trauma and harsh living conditions to grow. It can be hard to ask for help but by having opportunities more accessible, we could reach these young women and guide them to greater opportunities. If it be study, employment, life skills, and ways to grow their confidence.
